So Granddaddy finally did it. We never thought it would actually happen! Not that I blame him. A boat is a huge purchase and it's not something you get to use every day... unless you're a professional angler... or a tour guide... or live at the beach... we are working on those. Anyway, after years of searching (on boat lots and in his own soul), he decided to take the plunge and go all out. He ended up with a SeaFox saltwater fishing boat. It came home on the anniversary of the Titanic sinking (bad omen?), but in the months since it's been in the family, it has been a lot of fun and seen a lot of salt. Of course, we don't get to go out as often as we would like, but when we have it's been like a dream come true. There's just nothing like a sunset cruise around the marshes. Travis and Granddaddy prefer the fishing aspect, and I understand, but I'm more of a dolphin spotting, drink-in-hand, taking-in-the-scenery girl myself. It's been awesome. Seeing the world from the perspective of the ocean is a magical thing! We christened the boat the Miss EmiLee Grace for all three girl grandchildren (don't worry - Chandler was made Captain with a very special hat). Can't wait for many years of memories and watching the kids grow up around the water.
