Autumn Leaves

Caroline and Josie Brown were born only eleven weeks apart. Jennifer and I were both really excited to have had girls at the same time and it's been so much fun to watch them grow up and become close friends - Josie calls Caroline "cousin Caroline." They don't see each other extremely often, but when they do get together it's as if they have not skipped a beat (hmmm... must be genetic! Jennifer and I have the same quality in our own friendship!). They played and played today. Around the end of the afternoon they decided to play in the leaves. I was able to get some really cute shots of them. I particularly love the one of Caroline raking leaves - princesses always wear their gowns... even when performing such menial tasks as yard work.

And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall."

UGA Homecoming 2010

We went to Athens today to celebrate Homecoming - Emily was able to spend the day at Grandma's house, so Caroline had Mama and Daddy all to herself. We met up with the Browns and went to campus to watch the Dawg Walk, meet up with the Varnells, and enjoy campus for awhile. We didn't even try to get tickets to the game, since Caroline still, at this point, has more fun playing around during the game than actually paying attention, so we all headed back to Jennifer and Gardner's and grilled out and watched the game from there.
We got to the Dawg Walk early enough to grab a spot right at the fence and Caroline was able to watch the cheerleaders, Hairy Dawg, and entire football team up close. She had a blast! Since it was Homecoming, there were lots of alumni around to celebrate, and so we were able to make friends with the Class of '61 Cheerleading Squad and posed for some pictures with them. The weather was perfect and the Dawgs notched a huge victory over Vandy, beating them soundly 42-0.

I assure you, it's much more serious than that."

Countdown to Baby Ella Ruth

Our dear friends, the Stanfords, are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their second daughter, Ella Ruth, in about a month. Last Sunday, we took Becky out for a little girl time. We had lunch at Italian Oven and then went for manicures and pedicures. It was nice to have a timeout from being a Mommy! I got to meet two of Becky's best friends, Heather and Jessica, and Leigh Ann Bain also was able to come. We are ready to meet Miss Ella Ruth any day now! Emily is ready for her BFF to arrive!
